Implementation Program

IMPLEMENTING THE PROJECT

The Science and Technology team have initiated the implementation program. The first component that needs to be implemented is the Solar Systems to provide energy for the other two components (Science Lab and Computer Lab). The local project coordinator has paid an initial visit to the school to see how work is progressing and he is very impressed, he also confirmed that all the activities carried out are within the guidelines set out and logical strategies advised in the project plan are being carefully followed.

Soma Junior and Senior Secondary School is currently the pilot candidate for the implementation program, after assessing the buildings where these labs are to be installed, the current Science Lab in the school did meet all the requirements needed to accommodate the Science Lab. A plan was then drawn to build a building that meets all the requirements in order for it to serve purpose. Construction has already began to facilitate this new development and you can follow details below.

SOLAR PANEL

Items for the solar panel has already been purchased shipped to The Gambia. Upon arrival, installation will begin to accommodate the two components. More information will follow on here as it happens.

SCIENCE LAB

Most of the items needed for the Science Lab will be purchased from the U.K, those are currently being procured to be shipped to The Gambia. However, the current Lab in Soma Senior Secondary School will not be suitable for the proposed Lab intended. The team then decided to build a suitable Lab to fit the purpose outlined in project plan. Construction is already taking place to avoid delay, images can be seen below.
